The project I choose to make was homemade Chocolate because that’s one of my favorite candy’s I like to  eat .  I decided to Change the temperature and the amount of ingredients for each trail. For the first trial I followed all the instructions and cooked it at a high temperature, the second trail I decide to switch it up a little and put half of each ingredients and the third trail I cooked it at a low temperature.

 The Science of Chocolate
Chocolate is made from a fruit of cacao trees, which grows in pod-like fruits on tropical cacao trees. Coco powder was invented in 1828 by a Dutch maker named Conrad Van Houten . Cocoa powder contains several minerals including calcium, copper, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, sodium and zinc.  Chocolate contains a lot of sugar including sucrose, it has small amount of glucose and fructose when the sugar solution is heated, some of the water evaporators makes sugar more concentration in the solution.  Glucose reacts with oxygen; carbon dioxide and water are produced. Chocolate contains theobromine, caffeine, phenylethylamine and anandamide. These chemical substances have a profound effect on the brain and demonstrate that chocolate has a definite physiological effect on the body.

3.) Add the 1 ½ of white sugar and stir
4.) Boil for 4-5 minutes.
5.) Remove from heat and stir in a salt and 1teaspoon of vanilla extract.
6.) Then place pot back on stove for a total of 7 more minutes.

Trial one
Trial Two
Trial Three
High
Medium
Low

Trial one - Trail one was the best! Had the most intense chocolate flavor the chocolate came out just right. It was sweet, Dark brown smooth and it taste good.

Trial Two-   This trail was ok. It came out watery, it was sweeter then trail one, I mean really sweet! And it also had a bitter taste to it .

Trail Three – I can say this was the worst trail... I missed one of the main ingredients which was milk. So, it didn’t really cook. It was stiff, it was basically just coco powder, clumpy and salty

Results/Conclusion

The first result came out perfect! Just how I wanted it to be. Just fine Sweet Dark brown Smooth Taste good.
