Tyesha's Marvelous Mac and Cheese

I chose to make mac and cheese because that's my favorite food and I did this project close to Thanksgiving, so I planned to contribute. We never ate it though because there was enough food already.

I researched the chemistry of the ingredients I used for the experiment. The ingredients were milk, macaroni, margarine, cheddar cheese, an Italian cheese blend, mozzarella, and salt and pepper for seasoning. Milk consists of lactose and water. Macaroni consists of wheat flour, salt, eggs, vegetable oil and water. All the cheeses are made from cheese cultures. They're aged to ripen the cheese and get each cheeses unique flacor, appearance, etc. Salt is a compound of sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl). Pepper's primary ingredient is piperine, with a chemical formula of C17H19NO3

My macaroni and cheese recipe called for:
  • 1/2 box of macaroni
  • 2 1/2 cups of milk
  • 12 cups of water (for cooking macroni)
  • 2 cups of cheese
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 1 cup of margarine, melted
Instructions
  1. Place 12 cups of water in a large pot and leave on medium heat to boil.
  2. While the water boils, place 1 cup of margarine in a different pot (preferably smaller), on medium heat as well, for it to melt.
  3. Once the margarine has melted, add 2 1/2 cups of milk, stirring constantly until the mixture reaches a boil.
  4. Once the water is boiling, add the macaroni gradually as to not splash the boiling water on yourself.
  5. Cook the macaroni until it's tender, which usually takes around 8 minutes, but I left it in there longer. Stir occasionally while it cooks.
  6. Once the macaroni is cooked, strain and let it cool for a few minutes.
  7. Once cooled, place the mac in a typical casserole pan.
  8. Add the margarine mixture and three cheeses.
  9. Bake in the oven at 350°F for 30 minutes to an hour.
  10. Let it cool off, then it's ready to serve!

I'm glad you made it this far and thank you for reading my blog. Have a nice day everyone!
